Saraswathy Vidyalaya Nursery School was started on 4th June 1992 by Sri. Venkataraman to cater to the needs of the children in the locality. In 1995, the school was taken over by the Lakshmi Ammal Trust, a registered body of public nature for educational and charitable purpose and was renamed as Saraswathy Venkataraman Matriculation School. The School was upgraded as Higher Secondary during the year 1999.

This institution of eminence is run to develop a healthy as well as a critical attitude among the students towards the development of their mental, physical and moral upliftment so as to make them good, responsible citizens with our traditional and cultural advancement to train and equip the student's so as to become self-supporting in an honourable and decent way of life ultimately leading to development into good, healthy and progressive citizens with acclaimed social habits.

This is a co-educational Institution recognised by the government of Tamil Nadu and follows Matriculation Pattern.

Mr. S. Venkataraman Founder and patron was born in September 20th 1931 at Kathiramangalam, Tanjore district. Mr. Venkataraman had his early school days at Kuthalam primary school. In 1949 at the age of 18 he moved to Madras in search of a job. Special mention must be made about his wife Mrs. Saraswathy who was with him in the early days in all his efforts. Along with her support Mr. Venkataraman to rise up to this level. The proverb goes well with him “For every successful man there will be a man there will be a woman behind him”. Over a time in every man’s life a change of mind will take place and Mr. Venkataraman’s mind started thinking of opening a school in this area. His wife was running a nursery opposite to his house as “Saraswathy Nursery”. He wanted to start a school after closing down the nursery. When he expressed his desire, his wife readily accepted and happy that she is instrumental for starting the school which will serve the society at large. The “Saraswathy Nursery” became “Saraswathy Vidyalaya Primary School” with LKG to V Std. With efforts put forth by Mr. Venkataraman, the institution began to grow steadily and became Higher Secondary School”. Mr. Venkataraman in the name of his mother Lakshmi Ammal created a trust with his sons as “Lakshmi Ammal Trust” to run the school. His son, Mr. V. Srinivasan became correspondent and with the assistance of other members, looking after the administration. We are sure that with Almighty’s blessing the school will win laurels and open many branches.
